Cara Nelson Recognized at CAI Vision Awards – Above and Beyond
The Minnesota Chapter of the Community Associations Institute recently honored Cara Nelson for her work in the field of community management. Nelson was given the Above & Beyond Award at CAI-MN’s annual Vision Awards ceremony. The Above & Beyond Award is given to an individual for substantive achievement in the areas of task performance, service and humanitarian efforts, and generally going above and beyond the typical job description of a community manager. Sharper Management’s Director of Community Management, Candy Lee, Earns PCAM
Eden Prairie, MN, (September 22, 2016) – Sharper Management is pleased to announce their Director of Community Management, Candy Lee, has earned the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation. The PCAM is the highest designation possible awarded to community management professionals. Recommended for experienced managers, the PCAM is for community professionals who want to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge and who wish to be recognized as one of the best and most experienced managers in the nation. Only an elite group of community professionals nationwide have completed the requirements of the PCAM. Requirements for earning the PCAM include; • Five years of direct community association management experience. • Successful completion of all six M-200 level courses (with the last PMDP course completed within the past five years). These courses cover topics such as risk management, financials, and board members and their roles. • Completion of the PCAM application case study and earning a minimum total of 125 points. The case study consists of a two-day intensive experience learning about an example association and then completing an 80-100 page case study essay. The PCAM is awarded by Community Association Institute, an international membership organization dedicated to building better communities. With over 150 hours invested in earning the PCAM, Lee states, “I’m happy to have earned this designation. The broad knowledge based received is instrumental in helping our associations and the other community managers at Sharper Management.
